About
The Oromo Evangelical Church of Trøndelag was established to bring together Oromo believers living in the Trøndelag region of Norway and to serve the Kingdom of God. The church was founded in 2009 and was officially registered with the Norwegian government in 2010. Its establishment was inspired by the desire of Oromo Christians who had come to Norway for work, education, and a new life to encourage one another in the Kingdom of God and to hear and share the Gospel in their own language. The primary mission of the church is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, nurture believers in the Kingdom of God, strengthen unity within the Christian community, and serve the Oromo diaspora community. The church carries out various ministries, including regular worship services, communal prayer gatherings, Bible studies, youth programs, and community outreach activities. The Oromo Evangelical Church of Trøndelag proclaims Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of the world and is committed to spiritual growth, living a life of holiness within God’s Kingdom, and spreading the message of the Gospel to all people. The church plays an important role in bringing together Oromo believers who live far from their homeland by strengthening Christian fellowship, encouraging one another through prayer, providing mutual support, and nurturing a generation that honors and follows the ways of God. It also contributes to preserving and passing on the Oromo language, culture, and identity to future generations within the Kingdom of God. “Our unity is in Christ, our strength is in the Gospel, and our hope is in our Lord Jesus Christ.” “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
